William Pearce Park Playground
August’s Playground of the Month is William Pearce Park Playground!
The park celebrates William Pearce, who in 1876, along with Dominion Land Surveyors, commenced laying out the grid system that included townships, ranges, sections and road allowances. He is known as the father of irrigation for his work in developing the layout for irrigation in the prairies.
We asked a local family to check out the playground and let us know their thoughts!
This Park would be great for a game of eye spy. The unique fish sculpture in the water and the colorful playground would provide lots of items to choose from.
There are 2 main ways to play this classic game:
The player gives the first letter of the object as a clue. For example, if the player chooses a fence, they say, 'I spy with my little eye something beginning with F'. Players take turns to call out guesses until someone gets the right answer. The first person to guess correctly gets the next turn to choose an object
The player gives the colour of the object as a clue. For example, if the player chooses a blue slide, they say, 'I spy with my little eye something blue'. Players take turns to call out guesses until someone gets the right answer. The first person to guess correctly gets the next turn to choose an object.
