A Passport to Adventure
This summer, families are invited to explore eight parks and playgrounds across the city with the Parks & Playground Passport. More than just a scavenger hunt, the Passport encourages families to get outside, discover new places, and experience the many ways play can look in our community.
From climbing structures and slides to unique park features and hidden details; each stop offers a new opportunity for adventure, imagination, and connection.
Why Explore New Playgrounds?
Children learn through play, but they also learn through exploration. Visiting different parks introduces new challenges, environments, and opportunities to build confidence.
One playground might inspire imaginative play, while another encourages climbing, balancing, or problem solving. Exploring different spaces helps children develop new skills while keeping outdoor play exciting all summer long.

The Parks & Playground Passport transforms an ordinary park visit into mission.
Families can search for clues, answer questions, and discover details they might otherwise overlook. Along the way, children are encouraged to observe their surroundings, be creative, and engage with the playground in new ways. You might even discover a new favourite park!
Join Playground Connections
Several of the parks featured in the Passport will also host Playground Connections, a free drop-in program offered in partnership with Primary Care Alberta. Parents and caregivers have the opportunity to connect with others, learn about local services, and enjoy featured parks alongside their children. It’s another great way to build community while embracing the power of play.
